SkillPayApp is a marketplace where learners book paid 1:1 video sessions with mentors. These terms explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

1.Accepting these terms

By creating an account, signing in, or booking a session you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use SkillPayApp. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.

2.Who can use SkillPay

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile and for everything that happens under your account.

3.Your account

You can sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with your Google or Apple account. Keep access to that email address and those accounts secure — anyone who can receive your code can sign in as you.

Signing in through Google or Apple shares your name and email address with us so we can create or match your account. It does not give us access to anything else in those accounts.

4.Booking sessions

Learners book paid 1:1 video sessions with mentors at the times mentors publish. A booking is confirmed once payment succeeds. Sessions take place over video inside SkillPay.

Mentors set their own rates, availability, and the scope of what they teach. Mentors are independent — they are not our employees, and we do not supervise or guarantee the advice they give.

5.Payments and fees

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Learners pay the mentor's session rate plus a processing fee shown before checkout; the total is always displayed before you confirm.

Mentors receive 85% of the session rate. The remaining 15%, plus processing costs, is the platform fee that keeps SkillPay running. Mentor earnings are paid out through Stripe Connect once a session is complete.

6.Cancellations, refunds and no-shows

Cancellation windows and any resulting refund are shown at the time you cancel, and depend on how close the session is. If a mentor cancels or fails to attend, the learner is refunded in full.

Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in strikes against an account, and persistent problems may lead to suspension. Where a learner does not attend, the mentor may choose to keep the payment or waive it.

7.How you must behave

Treat other people on the platform with respect. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, or impersonate anyone; do not record a session without the other person's consent; and do not use SkillPay for anything illegal.

Do not attempt to move payment for a booked session off the platform, scrape the service, probe its security, or interfere with its operation.

8.Content you provide

You keep ownership of your profile text, session materials, and reviews. You grant us a licence to host and display that content so the service can function — for example showing your profile to learners browsing mentors. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.

9.Suspension and ending your account

You may stop using SkillPay at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, creates risk for other users, or is required to be closed by law. Obligations that survive by their nature — such as payment for sessions already delivered — continue after an account closes.

10.Disclaimers and liability

SkillPay is a marketplace connecting learners and mentors. We do not verify the qualifications or claims of every mentor, and mentoring is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, or financial advice. Sessions are provided as-is.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
